I am one of those people who actually likes bars of soap.
I get excited browsing the natural scents at the farmer’s market and trying new bars every few weeks. Except a bar of soap + slippery fingers + questionable shower floor = concerns. Anytime I drop my bar of soap, I do a double take as I pick it up and stare at my shower shoes. I wonder if I should use the soap again or not.
I like liquid cleansers too. Body wash and bath poufs are fun to lather up with in the shower at home, but they just aren’t very portable in a gym bag. After you tuck that moist pouf in your bag for a bit, it gets a little stinky, you know?

So, when Sebamed asked if I wanted to try their new liquid face & body wash in a pump bottle, I was intrigued! The instructions say to forgo a pouf or washcloth and simply use your hands to create a lather. I’ve been giving the cleanser a good workout in my gym bag for the past few weeks and can say it does a nice job of making me feel fresh while removing the chlorine scent of my recent swim.
I also like that the cleanser:
- isn’t tested on animals
- is made without any animal products (vegan), parabens, gluten or soap
- helps maintain a healthy pH balance in my skin
- doesn’t make my sensitive skin break out in a rash or get overly dry
- is biodegradable when it enters the wastewater system
- is helpful for people with eczema and dry skin conditions
It did take me a few tries to get used to this body wash. It has a light fragrance that reminds me of perfume my grandmother would wear. I’d prefer a more natural scent, like lavender or vanilla. But, this body wash been a convenient option to tuck in my gym bag to keep my skin healthy and clean.
What type of soap do you use at the gym? Liquid, bar or something else? Tell me in the comments below!
Until next time,
Choose healthy!
