The dogs lucked out again. Yesterday the FedEx man dropped off a special package for Belle and Orion from Evanger’s Food for Pets.
The box contained three sample pouches of dry dog kibble from the company’s line of meat-based kibble. As I unpacked the box and tried to take a picture, they begged for a sample, so they tasted the Whitefish and Sweet Potato Recipe. Both the Weimaraner and bull terrier gobbled down the grain-free kibbles without hesitation.
The dry food is made with probiotics and prebiotics to promote a healthy digestive system and is loaded with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to keep their skin and coats hydrated. I also like that the dry formulas can be fed to help with common dog health concerns including allergies, diabetes, joint pain and sensitive stomachs.
The pups were also treated to a few cans of the company’s Signature Stew Style Canned Food and The Original Hand Packed Whole Meat Chunks in Gravy.
When I opened a can of the Braised Beef Chunks, I was surprised to see actual cuts of what looked like roast beef. I placed a chunk on top of each dog’s dry kibble to jazz up their evening meal last night, and both licked their bowls clean.
I really liked that the moist dog food didn’t have an odor or “smell like dog food”. Honestly, the beef chunks looked like something you’d make in your slow cooker on a Sunday afternoon.
Both Belle and Orion give Evanger’s dry food and moist foods two paws up!
Until next time,
Choose healthy!
