How Chiropractic Care is Easing My Migraine Aura Symptoms

After nine appointments, my vision is improving.

I’m so excited I had to share that right away. But, let me back up. A few months ago, I met with a chiropractor at a health fair who’s knowledgeable about migraines. I explained I don’t have much head pain, but rather, the auras bother me most.

  • Random moments of blurry vision
  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Balance issues
  • Lack of depth perception

I spent a year and a half getting brain and spine MRIs to help diagnose and track these issues. My neurologist talked about multiple sclerosis often. However, the chiropractic treatments for migraines and homeopathic treatments to address chronic reactivated Lyme Disease, Epstein-Barr virus, parasites, mold and a few other issues have helped immensely.

Many of my symptoms are resolving.

About My Chiropractic Care for Migraine with Aura

Although I’ve received chiropractic care in the past for other issues, I’ve never focused on migraine with aura. My doctor assured me he could help, so I figured let’s try it! My chiropractic care currently involves three parts.

1. Regular adjustments

I am seeing my chiropractor three times per week for adjustments for four weeks, and then we will go down to two times per week for two months. We are primarily working on my upper cervical spine (the neck) to get C1 and C2 back into alignment and allow my central nervous system to work properly.

2. Using a Denne Roll

During my initial x-ray, we discovered I have irregular cervical lordosis, or a curvature of the neck that leans too far forward. I am using a Denne Roll to help re-train the curvature of my neck. I don’t love this part. It’s very uncomfortable, but little by little, I can tolerate more time on the Denne Roll. This device is also known as a “shoulder and neck relaxer”. You can find them on Amazon and use one at home to help with neck pain.

3. Exercising at home

My chiropractor has asked me to complete several neck and spine exercises at home. I laughed when he handed me the instructional paperwork. They are mostly common gentle yoga poses that I’m very familiar with and am happy to do! Yoga for the win!

I’m excited to see how my treatments progress. But, as I excitedly blurted out at the start of this blog post, my number one lingering migraine aura symptom of blurry vision is finally correcting itself. I’ve had multiple vision tests done over the last year and half and my eyes are perfect. It’s the visual processing center in my brain that isn’t functioning correctly. But, now it’s working better as my spine and central nervous system health improve.

I am so grateful for my healing!

Until next time,
Choose healthy!
