Audio Books 2.0

Audio Books 2.0I’ve always loved a good story.

Paperbacks filled the end table by my bed in high school and books on tape littered my car during my college years.

Fast forward twenty+ years. My husband recently introduced me to the world of books being read to me from the convenience of my smartphone or computer. I’m hooked.

Hello, Audible!

If you love to read, but just don’t have the time or vision to consume those pages, you can now listen to a story, much like we used to do on cassette tapes. A narrator reads the selection, and you can pause it at any time, jump back 30 seconds to re-listen to a section, or fast forward 30 seconds to move past something uninteresting. You can even jump around by chapter.

I’m addicted. I now listen to books via Audible when I’m bathing, washing dishes, driving, shoveling snow, walking the dog and pretty much anytime I’m doing random tasks around the house.

If you’re looking for a new way to get back into some authors you’ve been neglecting, this is it. Reading has always been a healthy mental escape for me and now I can get lost in a fiction or non-fiction story for a few minutes, or few hours, via my cellphone. It’s amazing. Do you love audiobooks too? What have you been listening to lately? I’m checking out a new series by James Patterson!

Until next time,
Choose healthy!
Angela
