Fall is amazing. In addition to the changing leaves, tall boots and mugs of hot cocoa, it’s my favorite time of year at STARS, a local animal-assisted therapy program where I volunteer.
Each fall the clients work with therapy horses and dogs to create original works of art on canvas. These paintings are then auctioned off to raise money to offset the cost of therapeutic riding sessions for the clients.
Last night droopy ears, fluffy paws and long tails became paint brushes. The horses’ halters were fitted with brushes dipped in acrylics.
It was a messy, wonderful evening of creativity at the barn. I’ve also written about this painting project for Hello Humankindness. Check it out HERE.
What activities are you looking forward to this month? Are you involved in any volunteer activities this fall?
Until next time,
Choose healthy!
