Finding Your Process

Finding Your Process #CupcakesAndYogaPants

Making healthy choices each day isn’t easy. Temptations pop up. Exhaustion gets the better of us. And, we ultimately take the easier choices that may not always be the healthiest.

I’m working through the acceptance of several losses in my life and have been extremely challenged lately. I haven’t been making the best decisions regarding nutrition, exercise, rest, emotional wellness and self care.

So, I started to think about my processes and realized that if I don’t love the path I’m on, I won’t stick to it.

For example, if you want to boost your fitness and tell yourself you’ll go to the gym at 5am daily for a cardio class, but hate mornings and sweating, you probably won’t go more than a few times. Negative feelings will set it, and you’ll cut it from your schedule.

So today I want to stress how important it is to find processes that work for you, so you can continue to make healthy choices each day. It doesn’t matter what your neighbor does or how your friends find happiness. We are all individuals.

For me, swimming and yoga trump high-intensity cardio classes.
Meditation and energy work boost my spirituality.
Gluten-free, vegetarian, low-dairy and low-grain whole foods meals make my physical body feel best.
Dog snuggles, creative hobbies and long walks boost my emotional wellness.
Epsoms salts, dietary changes and staying moisturized keep my skin healthy.

These are my processes. What works for me, may not work for you.

Over the years I’ve experimented with many ways to enhance my overall wellness, and I continue to try new things to see what sticks. We are ever evolving and need to find the processes that makes sense for us, at the time we need it.

What processes do you have in place to help you make healthy decisions one day at a time?

I love the idea of finding what works best for you. Everyone always insists that there is ONE a best way to do something. Personally, I love to walk, read, and relax with my dog

Hey Rachel! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. I agree 1000%! I’m starting to click past headlines now that tell me “the best way” to do something. I’m like, “This is best for who??” We are all individuals with individual needs and processes. Do what works best for you and you’re winning!! And, I mirror your likes too! Reading, walks and dog time!! Happy writing to you! ~ Angela
